The 2016-17 Marching Maroon and White Band consists of over two hundred students from varied ethnic backgrounds, races, and majors. To assist our student in assuring that they meet success in the classroom as well as on the band field, we have implemented a mandatory study hall that takes place on each Tuesday and Thursday night, after band practice. Generally these sessions run from 8:30 p.m. until 10:0 p.m. These sessions are conducted in-house, by band members who excel in their particular majors and expertise. In addition, the University has created several Learning Communities to help our students maneuver through the first year of college. The latest Learning Community focuses on Freshman MMW Band Members! We are very proud to have successful, professional Alumni MMW Bandsmen in the Huntsville area to mentor our students with in the MMW Band Learning Community!
